Billund / Munich (ots) – The LEGO® gaming experience reaches a new level: The LEGO Group and Nintendo enter into a partnership
Super Mario is transferred to the world of LEGO bricks – new LEGO® Super Mario product line[TM] will appear in 2020
The LEGO Group today announced its partnership with Nintendo. The two companies that stand for game innovations reinterpret the LEGO game as part of their collaboration and create interactive, physical game worlds in which one can interact in a unique way with the popular video game hero Super Mario. The new LEGO® Super Mario product line will appear in 2020[TM].
With the new LEGO® Super Mario[TM] The product line will experience the Super Mario world like never before: Mario becomes tangible as an interactive LEGO Mario figure in the physical LEGO world. Analogous to the popular video game series, the LEGO Mario figure collects coins – in physical game levels built with LEGO bricks. Part of the new gaming experience will always be new challenges as well as actively designed and self-built levels and game options. The first indications of what small and large fans can expect from the product line that will appear in the course of 2020 can be found in the video distributed today by the LEGO Group and Nintendo: https://youtu.be/Fq3hw4imZ3g
“We are absolutely thrilled to bring Mario into the physical world with our interactive, collaborative LEGO game,” said Julia Goldin, EVP Chief Marketing Officer, EVO. “Our new game design will enable millions of children to interact with Mario in a unique way and creatively design the game with their favorite hero. The seamless integration of the latest digital technology makes LEGO® Super Mario[TM] a particularly interactive and collaborative gaming experience. “” I’ve always liked LEGO products and how they help children develop their imaginations in the game, “added Takashi Tezuka, board member and game developer at Nintendo Co., Ltd.” The new product, that we developed together with the LEGO Group combines two different ways of playing with each other. On the one hand, the world of Mario can be built and designed completely freely, on the other hand, Mario can be played in exactly this self-created world. “
