Barely more than a week before the first round of the legislative elections, Ifop interviewed the inhabitants of the seventh district of Paris for the Journal du Dimanche and Sud Radio. Strategic, the latter presents the double challenge of being the scene of a tight confrontation between the presidential majority and the NUPES coalition, but also the constituency in which Clément Beaune, current Minister Delegate in charge of Europe, is running.
With 41% of the votes in her favor in this first round, the candidate of the NUPES coalition Caroline Mecary comes first, ahead of the candidate of the presidential majority Clément Beaune (36%). This particularly tight confrontation between the two candidates thus does not allow us to consider the hypothesis of a triangular for the second round. In fact, no other candidate manages to reach the threshold of 12.5% of registered voters necessary to qualify for the second round.
In the event of a duel, it is the candidate of the NUPES Caroline Mecary who would win by little (51% against 49% for Clément Beaune). The constituency would then change sides, the seat having been occupied since 2017 by Pacôme Rupin (LaREM). His victory would at the same time risk the current Minister Delegate having to resign, as the President of the Republic had announced for any minister who fails to win.
