Chelsea and Arsenal stars who fought on the pitch could face each other in the race for a managerial position

They were once enemies on the field, and now Arsenal and Chelsea legends Patrick Vieira and John Terry could be competing with each other outside of it.
Both have been credited with an interest in the vacant position at Bournemouth as the Cherries look to replace fired manager Jason Tindall.
A recent 2-1 loss to Sheffield Wednesday in Tindall’s last game in charge, with former Leeds, Middlesbrough and Real Madrid defender Jonathan Woodgate intervening on an interim basis.
He’s off to a good start with wins over Birmingham and Burnley, but it is unlikely that he will be assigned the job permanently.

Speaking on talkSPORT, journalist Alex Crook said: “Well the interview process is now underway.
“I’m not sure they are going to make an appointment before this weekend. I think the fact that Jonathan Woodgate comes in and won both of his games, and won very well at Burnley last night (it was a good performance from Bournemouth, albeit against a very poor Burnley team), they are happy to keep him in charge until Saturday if it is. necessary.
“I think that will probably be the case now. They are not looking to name a manager who has been on the merry-go-round.
“I think they want someone fresh, relatively young, someone with new ideas.
“That would seem to exclude people like Tony Pulis and Nigel Pearson, who have shown interest.

“I know that Paul Cook would also be very interested in taking the job, but again, I don’t think he’s being considered.
“I mentioned John Terry this time last week. Still very interested. I think what counts against him at this point is his lack of front-line managerial experience.
“They took a chance on Jason Tindall. Simon (Jordan) will say that didn’t work so maybe they need someone who has been there and seen him a little more in the dugout than John Terry.
“A name that is being mentioned to me – and this may be a bit complicated, but it also makes sense to someone – Patrick Vieira, the Arsenal legend, has certainly shown some interest in this work.
“He has coached in Nice, he has coached in MLS, he was in charge of the Manchester City Under-21 team.
“He’s got connections and he’s got a little more experience than John Terry and, more importantly, he’s also a former Richard Hughes teammate from his Arsenal days.
Richard Hughes didn’t play much for Arsenal, he was a little kid there, but there is a relationship and he fits the profile.

“It fits the big name they want to bring.
“I mean it would be a fascinating date.”
After retiring in 2018, Terry became an assistant manager at Aston Villa and remains in the role to this day.
Vieira went on to coach New York City FC and Nice in Ligue 1.
In other news, West Ham fans are urging Moyes to play the 24-year-old front tonight.
