According to the Latvian Cycling Federation, Kambala will take part in the 12-kilometer-long “Woodland” People’s Ride, which will be his competition debut in this sport.
The “Smiltene Cup” will take place for two days this year – on September 12 and 13. On Saturday, September 12, the first sprint competition in the history of Latvia will take place in the Old Park and on Bruģa Hill. They promise to be very visible, because they will walk along the paths and pavement of the Old Park.
In turn, it will be a great opportunity for riders to compete for valuable cash prizes from the supporters of the competition. Meanwhile, the final stage of the Latvian Youth Cup, children’s races, the “Pafbet” sports distance and the “Woodland” People’s Ride will take place on Sunday from 10:00, the Latvian Cycling Federation reports.
“Smiltene Cup” is a cycling competition with more than 50 years of history. They were renewed last year after a 15-year hiatus, bringing together more than 400 participants in four different distances.
A strong line-up promises to be in both sprint and Pafbet Sports. Among the participants will be one of the leading sprinters of the Baltic States – Maris Bogdanovičs, Latvia’s new elite champion Viesturs Lukševics, Latvia’s former champion Andris Vosekalns, as well as men such as Kaspars Serģis, Raivis Ritums, Artis Roze and others.
