The premiere race of the Ironman triathlon brand attracted thousands of spectators and competitors to the center of Hradec Králové. The Elbe embankment, where the first part of the race was swam, was literally lined with spectators. They not only enjoyed the race itself, but also enjoyed the Food Truck Fest.
The main race started on Sunday morning. Competitors awaited a 1.9-kilometer swim in the Labe, a 90-kilometer bike ride in the direction of Rozkoš, and finally a 21-kilometer run in the center of Hradec. The route led along the waterfront and city parks.
The elite competitors set off on the track at half past ten, followed by 1,300 amateur athletes. The best should complete the entire course within 4 hours, the limit for the entire race is then 8 and a half hours.
