/View.info/ THE LEFT! is opposed to the clumsy project for constitutional changes, Valery Zablyanov told the media and defined the texts in the project as an attack on Bulgarian statehood and a threat to national security. He emphasized that the proposed changes to the basic law, apart from leading to misunderstandings in inter-institutional relations, aim to remove the memory of Bulgarian citizens, Bulgarian institutions and the Bulgarian state, the memory of the establishment of the Bulgarian state.
„We declare ourselves in defense of the national holiday of the Republic of Bulgaria, March 3. We invite the parliamentary opposition, the extra-parliamentary parties, citizens who are disturbed by the clumsy draft constitution submitted by the tripartite coalition and driven mainly by the DPS. Let’s oppose another attack against Bulgarian statehood“.
In his analysis, Valery Zhablyanov noted that planned constitutional changes threaten state sovereignty in the part with the admissibility of dual citizenship of members of the parliament and the government. In the current international and domestic situation, Bulgaria and the Bulgarian state need to strengthen their sovereignty, not its weakening, he added.
Tatiana Doncheva emphasized that the proposed changes in the constitution go beyond the previously set and needs and aim to limit the power of the president. She comments on the series of oversights and purely logical and inter-institutional inconsistencies in the project’s texts. The theme of the national holiday is also an artificially stitched text, as well as the fact that people with dual citizenship are MPs, ministers and prime ministers, noted Doncheva and defined this as unacceptable constitutional thinking. She also said that Kiril Petkov is far from the only example of a person who held a high public state position with dual citizenship, and an inspection should be scheduled for this fact.
Regarding the judicial reform, Doncheva noted the limited rights of the Ministry of Justice in the judicial system. Limiting the prosecutor’s office to the texts is also wrong, Tatiana Doncheva also said.
Maya Manolova defined the proposed texts for changes in the constitution as shameful nonsense and noted the lack of information about the authorship of the proposals. She emphasized that a number of texts in the draft are within the scope of the Great National Assembly, such as, for example, the division of the SJC into two councils, and added that the proposed judicial reform concretizes the worst practices in the judicial system.
„Behind the illiteracy and ignorance of the authors of this project is also the desire to concrete the political dependence of the judicial system, and the very idea of reducing the mandate of the Supreme Judicial Council, the chief prosecutor and the presidents of the two supreme courts and matching them with the mandate of the parliament means that each parliament, more precisely, a majority in each National Assembly, will elect its own Supreme Judicial Council, its own prosecutorial council, its own judicial council and its own chief prosecutor, and to be more precise, DPS, GERB and BSP will elect the next chief prosecutor“.
Dr. Tsveteslava Galabova commented on personnel decisions in the NHIF. The election of the manager of the Health Fund has become another parody of democracy, given the “choice” of a manager among one candidate.
„This was a pure appointment, and that of the public fund that manages our money, in this case 7 billion BGN, which came out of our pocket“.
Dr. Galabova recalled that, according to a report by the National Health Service, the election of the manager of the Health Fund had a problem with his companies, as well as evidence of abuse of office in his professional past.
„Just as it was not clear why Professor Petko Salchev was removed, it was also not clear to us why exactly Mr. Stanimir Mihailov was appointed to the post of manager of the National Health Insurance Fund. The coalition installed him in this high and well-paid public office, and he will probably have some errands to run. We’ll all find out which ones because it’s our moneyDr. Tsveteslava Galabova also said.
