The left lane of the Cipali Toll Road to Jakarta is heavily congested, the right lane is smooth

Jakarta

The one way system is implemented by the police starting from Km 188 of the Palimanan Toll Gate (GT) to Km 72 GT Cikampek. Even though one way is applied, congestion on the Cipali Toll Road towards Jakarta is unavoidable, especially on the left lane.

A resident named Hardi explained that he had been stuck in traffic on the left lane of the Cipali Toll Road towards Jakarta since Km 153. For more than five hours from around 22.00 WIB, the speed of the vehicle he was riding could only move up to Km 132.

“(Lost in) Cipali long, I think it reached Subang,” said Hardi to PasangMata detikcom, Friday (6/5/2022) at 03.10 WIB.

Hardi said that the traffic flow condition on the right one way lane is inversely proportional to the left lane. According to him, the vehicles on the right lane were moving very smoothly.

He said that since the beginning, the one way approach was implemented at Km 188 GT Palimanan, the vehicle was divided into two directions, right and left. When in the Palimanan GT, the vehicles on the right lane are stuck and the left is smooth. But the congestion on the right lane after the Palimanan GT is not as bad as on the left lane around Km 150 of the Cipali Toll Road.

“Yes, it was divided by two (in GT Palimanan), it was on the right and then on the left. I know the left side is badly jammed,” he said.

According to Hardi, the traffic jam on the one way left lane of the Cipali Toll Road is very severe. Until, he said, the motorists parked the car on the shoulder of the road and got off the vehicle because they were annoyed and bored after being unable to move.

“Maybe (the traffic jams) because there are a lot of people who park on the side of the road (toll) too,” he added.
