„THE LEFT!” opposes the disarmament of the Bulgarian Army and we warn the government and the majority of their responsibility before the constitution and the law
The war in Ukraine is drawing more and more resources, weapons and human casualties. Military victory becomes a bet for the political survival of governments, parties and politicians, regardless of the collapse of living standards in Europe, the economic crisis, rising inflation and prices.
Economic sanctions imposed on one package after another have negatively affected large European producers, made production more expensive and deprived thousands of small producers of market and profits.
Against this background, the creation of common European programs and funding for the production of armaments, ammunition and other military equipment do not meet the interests of European citizens. The prosperity, the competitiveness, the weight of Europe on a global scale are greatly weakened in the presence of war on the continent.
The Bulgarian government with Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov from the first day of taking office has been working solely and exclusively for a military solution to the conflict. This was confirmed during Zelensky’s visit to Sofia, through the list he provided of the armament requested by Bulgaria.
„THE LEFT!’ insists the government and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Bulgaria not to approve further “donations” of Bulgarian military equipment without the express sanction of the National Assembly.
„THE LEFT!’ opposes the disarmament of the Bulgarian army and we warn the government and the majority of their responsibility before the constitution and the law!
„THE LEFT!’ declares that the decision of the National Assembly to sell the reactors for “Belene” is a refusal to develop and the end of the nuclear energy industry in Bulgaria and represents a betrayal of the Bulgarian state and interests! This act dooms the economy and households in the country to pay expensive energy for decades to come.
Nothing from the development of the military situation in Ukraine necessitates such an action by the Bulgarian parliament and cannot be explained by anything other than appeasement and fear of external masters of this government and this parliament!
MARCH FOR PEACE: Given that The march for peace and sovereignty is organized with two beams, iand those for whom it will be difficult and far to go before the MFA, we invite you again in front of the pylons of the NDK on July 9 at 6:00 p.m. at the “Meeting for peace, against the involvement of Bulgaria in war”. The two beams will merge in front of the National Assembly.
