/ world today news/ “LEVITSATA!” and the Bulgarian Gas Association signed an ENERGY SECURITY PACT. The document formulates the general understanding of the Green Deal in the EU – in theory, a positive initiative, but in practice, highly problematic for Bulgaria. This was announced to the media by the chairman of the Coalition Council of “LEVITSATA!” Kostadin Paskalev.
The two sides agreed to make efforts for the future Bulgarian MEPs to formulate in their programs a position for the upcoming elections for the European Parliament on the depoliticization and decentralization of the European greenhouse gas emission allowance trading scheme and the organization of national greenhouse gas exchanges, as well as on eliminating the use of greenhouse gas quotas as financial instruments, with the aim of achieving national zero-carbon economies, and not unfairly subsidizing developed industrial countries at the expense of the periphery. The agreement between “THE LEFT!” and the Bulgarian Gas Association aims to achieve development and preservation of the Bulgarian economy, its social network and the quality of life of Bulgarian citizens.
The manager of the Bulgarian Gas Association Plamen Pavlov noted that the energy policies formed in our country are far from the interest of the Bulgarian citizens and expressed satisfaction with the support received from “THE LEFT!”.
In the context of the upcoming euro vote, energy security is one of the fundamental topics for “THE LEFT!” Kostadin Paskalev pointed out. By the end of February, the formation will start its active activity for the elections and present its candidates, who will formulate nationally responsible policies in Brussels. In the begining of March “THE LEFT!” will also present his political partners in the European elections.
The focus of the policies that will be emphasized is the threatened democracy in the European Union and the freedom of speech and media, the way in which the EU functions and decisions are made in general and the attitude towards Russia, peace and migration to and in the EU, the economy in the EU and the common agricultural policy.
In the context of the formation of a political platform of “THE LEFT!” for the upcoming European vote, Valery Zablyanov emphasized that the way in which the EU and its bodies are currently functioning does not satisfy a large part of the citizens of the European Union and poses a threat to fundamental rights and freedoms of European citizens, such as the right to expression and the right to free participation in political life. In this sense, “THE LEFT!” will defend a position for deep reforms in European institutions and limiting the arbitrariness of Brussels officials. Emphasis in the election campaign for the European Parliament will be the theme of peace and demilitarization of the European economy.
ABV leader Rumen Petkov has warned about a World Pandemic Agreement prepared by the WHO, the entry into force of which, in a pandemic situation, deprives the countries committed to it of their sovereignty. Petkov stressed that our country should show extreme reservations about such agreements and recalled the huge losses our country suffered as a result of what turned out to be mostly unnecessary restrictions during the announced Covid pandemic. And exactly how much money from the state treasury went to the Covid department and the entire volume of information about the actions of our country in that period, about purchased vaccines, masks, clothing, etc. “THE LEFT!” will demand from the Council of Ministers and the relevant department.
