“THE LEFT!” and Peter Vitanov of the EP will raise the issue of the US bill on the Black Sea as an arena of military action –

/ world today news/ On the initiative of “LEVITSATA!”, MEP Petar Vitanov undertook to raise in the European Parliament the issue of the American bill, with the potential to make the Black Sea an arena of military action.

The document was introduced in the US Senate on March 15 under the title “Black Sea Security Act of 2023.” and, according to the text, aims “ensuring security in the Black Sea region and other purposes“. At a meeting with the European MP, representatives of the management of “THE LEFT!” insisted on the position of the EU on the draft law and its admissibility, especially since among the affected countries in the document, according to which certain commitments are made, two members of the Union appear – Bulgaria and Romania.

The topic of the conversation with Vitanov was the practically smuggled import of cheap Ukrainian grain, which in fact otherwise has to pass through European countries in order to reach countries in need in Africa as aid. “THE LEFT!” insists that the issue of grain transport from Ukraine to Africa be strictly regulated by the European Commission so that the shipments remain sealed at the entrance and exit from European countries. Today, Ukrainian grain does not reach the distressed countries, as the EC regulation for transporting the raw material does not prohibit it from remaining on the territory of the EU. This smuggling affects, on the one hand, local grain producers and, on the other hand, is a huge threat to the health of EU citizens, as there is no phytosanitary control for the import of Ukrainian grain.
