Yesterday the exchange rate of the dollar on the black market crossed the threshold of 40 thousand pounds, for the first time in the history of Lebanon.
According to the Lebanese news sites, the dollar exchange rate fluctuated yesterday morning between 39 thousand and 950 pounds and 40 thousand and 50 pounds.
The official dollar price is 1,507 Lebanese pounds.
The site highlighted that this is an expected scenario, in light of the political divergences that have so far prevented the formation of the government and the absence of reform measures and rescue programs by the official authorities.
