Attempts to forcibly withdraw savings from banks reflect public anger at the bank.
On Tuesday (04/10/2022), a customer with a gun and a grenade entered the BLC Bank branch in Chtaura, urging him to withdraw USD 24,000 or Rp 367 million. of savings he had kept in the bank. This was communicated by Depositors’ Outcry, a group that provides advocacy to clients.
The group said the customer carrying a gun and grenades was named Ali al-Saheli. He needs to withdraw his money to pay off his debts and pay his son’s college tuition in Ukraine.
Al-Saheli also tried to sell his kidney to cover his needs. His attempts to withdraw his savings from the bank failed and he was arrested by the security forces.
