The leak of the new Celta kit: oversight or marketing?

What at first seemed like an oversight of some member of the club seems to be finally a well-orchestrated marketing plan. Celta issued an “official statement” this morning, in which they “deeply regretted the leak on social networks of images of the official shirt for the 2022/2023 season.”

They blamed it on negligence on the part of an employee and promised an investigation “to purge responsibilities after the printing and forgetting confidential documentation in a public place”. In addition, they claimed that the carelessness disrupted the publicity campaign planned for the launch of the new jersey, for which they apologized to sponsors and fans.

However, if we go to Celta’s official Twitter account, we no longer have any doubt that the negligence was not such, but everything responds to a promotional plan designed to go viral. In a tweet uploaded this afternoon with the hashtags #CeltaLeaks and #CuquitoyPerla, a video recorded at the La Tita Rivera brewery in Estrella Galicia is attached.

Filmed as if it were a hidden camera, Fran Beltrán is seen in it (whose dogs are actually called Cuquito and Perla) meeting with a man and showing him a folder with documents that would show the new light blue uniform and that is left abandoned on the table when they leave the premises.

Now it remains to be seen who took the folder and, most importantly, when the new kit that is already running on social networks will be officially presented.
