/ world today news/ The executive bureau of the BSP held an extraordinary meeting, at which the behavior of the group of municipal councilors from the BSP in the Metropolitan Municipal Council was discussed.
1. The leadership of the BSP categorically distinguishes itself from the actions of the municipal councilors;
2. Removes political confidence from them;
3. They no longer represent the BSP, but only themselves and bear personal responsibility for their actions in the SOS;
4. At the next meeting of the National Council, appropriate party penalties will be imposed.
The decision was reached after the municipal councilors did not comply with decision 134 of 20.01.2024 of the National Council of the BSP, which states: “The City Council of the BSP to nominate the candidacy of Diana Tonova for the chairman of the Metropolitan Municipal Council. The municipal councilors from “BSP for Bulgaria” in the voting for the election of the chairman of the SOS not to support the established majorities in the Municipal Council and not to vote for any other candidate, except for the candidacy of Diana Tonova”.
Councilors did not nominate Tonova and voted for another candidate.
