A number of invited guests have started arriving in Bali ahead of the High Level Conference (vertex)G20. Those who have arrived are the executive chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab, to Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser as chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (ISBD).
The arrival of several world leaders in Bali was broadcast via a YouTube account G20 Bali Summit 2022, Sunday (13/11/2022). Schwab initially got off the plane and then got into the car that had been provided for him.
Then he got out of the car and went to the meeting place. Bali Governor I Wayan Koster welcomed Schwab. Balinese dance welcomed Schwab’s arrival.
Not long after, ILO Director-General Gilbert Houngbo arrived in Bali. He was welcomed by the Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster and the Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G Plate.
Only then came Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser. Same with Gilbert, Sulaiman was also welcomed by I Wayan Koster and Plate.
Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard arrived later. This time they were welcomed by Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
Also, the leaders who had come directly left the airport. They made their way to the hotel where they stayed overnight.
Indonesian G20 summit
As mentioned by the official website, the G20 is a strategic multilateral platform that connects countries with the world’s major economies. G20 members represent over 80% of the world economy, 75% of international trade and 60% of the world’s population.
The busy G20 Summit Forum is held every year featuring every head of state or head of government. Indonesia officially holds the presidency of the G20 this year after it was previously held by Italy.
In his leadership, Indonesia brings the spirit of recovery together with the theme “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”. There are three priority issues in Indonesia’s G20 presidency, namely global health architecture, digital transformation and sustainable energy transition.
The G20 Indonesia Summit will be held in Bali on 15-16 November 2022. This event is the culmination of a series of G20 agendas under Indonesia’s presidency of the G20.
