“The Leader’s Beloved” .. Kim Jong Un prevents the use of his daughter’s name

The North Korean authorities forced the girls and women who bear the same name as the daughter of leader Kim Jong-un, Ju Ae, to change their names, to be his only daughter in the country who bears this name, according to what was reported by the American magazine “The Week”, according to the “Radio Free Asia” report.

On Monday, the report quoted two unidentified sources from North Pyongan and South Pyongan provinces as saying that local government officials had ordered the women to change their names on birth certificates in the cities of Jeongju and Pyeongseong.

A resident told Radio Free Asia, “The Ministry of Security in Gyeongju City summoned the women registered in the Resident Registration Department under the name (Ju Ae) to the Ministry of Safety to change their names.” Officials said the name was now reserved for people of “the highest dignity and high standard”.

And issuing orders to change citizens’ names or banning the naming of certain names, said the British newspaper, “The Guardian”, “It is a tradition followed by the ruling Kim dynasty in the isolated country.” In the year before he took over the country, Kim ordered those with the name “Jong Un” to legally change their birth certificates.

And the daughter of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un stole the limelight when she appeared with her father and mother at a huge military parade, during which a record number of intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads were revealed, according to a report published by the American newspaper, “The Wall Street Journal”, on February 8.

Western news agencies such as “Reuters” and “France Press” were interested in the appearance of the 10-year-old daughter, Kim Ju-ae, with her father and mother, Ri Sol-ju, as well as senior military leaders.

His daughter first appeared in North Korean state media in November during an intercontinental ballistic missile test.

Since then, she has accompanied her father to meet military scientists and inspect ballistic missiles, military officials have bowed before the child, and state media has described her as the leader’s respected and beloved daughter.

International newspapers and agencies indicated that this repeated appearance sparked speculation among some observers that she might be the potential candidate to rule the country.

However, others say that such speculation may be premature and that her public appearance does not mean that she will succeed her father, Kim Jong-un, and that a woman assuming power, in a dynasty dominated by men for decades, would be unprecedented.

Reuters quoted a professor at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in the South Korean capital, Mason Richie, as saying, “All we know is that this is just a passion for a favorite child, but the more she appears, the more it seems that she is either being completely prepared for leadership or at least being presented.” as a possibility.”

The clearest message, Hancock added, is that the country’s nuclear weapons are for future generations, and the daughter is part of that.
