Leader SC Cambuur made no mistake on Monday evening in the Kitchen Champion Division. The team from Leeuwarden won on Monday-evening thanks to a great goal from top scorer Robert Mühren with 0-3 against Young AZ.
Mühren opened the score in Wijdewormer in the nineteenth minute in a very nice way. The striker shot the ball hard on the left side of the penalty area over goalie Rody de Boer and through the post into the goal.
Ten minutes before halftime, Mühren also made it 0-2, signing his 26th league goal of the season and consolidating his first place on the top scorers list of the First Division. Michael Breij made it 0-3 in injury time.
Cambuur has already booked the sixth competition win in a row and is now at 66 points, four more than immediate attacker De Graafschap. The team from Doetinchem won 1-2 with Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday.
On Monday evening, NEC fought its way past Jong FC Utrecht. The Domstedelingen took the lead after three minutes via a penalty from Jonas Arweiler, but NEC equalized in the 25th minute with a penalty from Zian Flemming.
It seemed to stay at 1-1 at sports complex Zoudenbalch, but Ole Romeny signed deep in injury time for the winning goal on behalf of NEC. The people from Nijmegen are now at 45 points, good for eighth place.
