Kyrgyzstan is helping the Putin regime circumvent Western sanctions imposed in response to military aggression.
Kyrgyzstan became one of Moscow’s key economic allies in its aggression against Ukraine. The country has taken on the role of a conduit through which the Russian Federation imports sanctioned goods.
This is stated in a new article from an influential American publication. Financial Times.
Experts analyzed trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Europe and found abnormal indicators. It turned out that with the start of the Russian war against Ukraine Kyrgyzstan’s exports to Poland grew by an impressive 2100%, with Germany by 1300%, with the Czech Republic by 1200%, and with Hungary by 300%..
A colossal increase in Kyrgyzstan’s exports was recorded in the automotive sector. It amounted to 5500%.
Given that the Central Asian country is not experiencing any economic boom, it is clear that the figures are the result of Moscow’s sanctions-busting scheme.
“You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know that all this is heading to Russia,” the Financial Times notes.
As a result, sanctioned goods are more expensive for Moscow, since they have to pay for logistics costs and the services of Kyrgyz intermediaries. Nevertheless, the aggressor country retains access to these products.
Unfortunately, this also applies to military goods. Moscow, despite the sanctions, calmly purchases electronics for the production of missiles that hit the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine.
