The lawyers return to the benches of the Faculty of Law of Draguignan

Dracénois lawyers as well as all those who depend on one of the fifteen bars of an area that extends from Nice to Avignon, have the opportunity to return to the benches of the law faculty of the city “with whom we have created a partnership that allows us to organize two training days a year in its amphitheater, also open to law students”explains the president Laurent Le Glaunec, on the initiative of these.

Exchange opportunities

After sifting through all aspects of civil procedure a few months ago, it was criminal law as a whole that brought together more than a hundred participants.

Including a young future lawyer from Draguignan who thinks only well of this kind”update”, to use his own words, “even if the life of the Bar Association of Draguignan is active, the lawyers do not see each other a lot on a daily basis and just these days they allow us to exchange with other colleagues on some of our cases and thus benefit from their expertise and experience to find solutions on a problem file”.

The art of improvising

During this training day led by eminent professionals, such as the president of Nice, Adrien Verrier, who worked a lot for the process of the July 14 attack in Nice, it was also the place of the victim whose motivations in matters of justice they are divided between obtaining compensation or condemning the perpetrator. The latter will publish 100% of cases regarding sexual assault cases.

Finally, this day alluded, on the basis of specific examples, to the hearings before the Court of Assizes and the criminal court: “There may be procedural issues raised by lawyers to try to challenge, in particular, a statement by the Public Prosecution. But also hearing incidents for which you need to know how to react when you haven’t necessarily anticipated or prepared for them. There is improvisation and spontaneity of the public”, says Laurent Le Glaunec.

Hence the great interest in registering for these training days.
