During the hearing, held behind closed doors, the judge examined the documentation provided by the lawyers representing Arrieta’s parents in Thailand, including a power of attorney from the family that authorizes them to appear at the trial and have access to the summary.

In Thailand there is no private prosecution, but the lawyers of Arrieta’s family will be able to join and collaborate with the prosecutor during the trial.
