He wants to concentrate on the activity of vice mayor “to make the citizens of Terni understand what the municipal administration has done and what it will do”
Riccardo Corridore, most voted centre-right candidate in the municipality of Terni in the last regional elections (2,034 preferences), resigned as AP regional coordinator. The resignation was agreed with the national secretary of Alternativa Popolare and mayor of Terni, Stefano Bandecchi.
The motivation was “I want to concentrate on the activity of vice mayor, to make the citizens of Terni understand what the municipal administration has done and what it will do.” Corridore’s plan will be to commit to the maximum together with Bandecchi and concentrate on the good management of political activities in common and prepare for the political elections, in two and a half years, and the municipal elections, in three and a half years.
During a press conference the lawyer Corridore shed light on the electoral results and analysed, on a political level, the preferences of Popular Alternative “The center-right lost, but Alternativa Popolare made its contribution with one overall growth compared to the European elections: from 9.48 to 12.02% in Terni, from 5.39 to 6.71% in the province, from 1.84 to 2.16% on a regional basis. We were credited with 1.8% and we made a substantial contribution to the coalition, but it wasn’t enough. We are clearly satisfied, less so with the overall outcome of the vote which did not lead to the re-election of Donatella Tesei. And the reflections in this phase are physiological.”
Referring to the recent European elections he stated: “At the European elections we were 18.5 points behind Fratelli d’Italia, today down to 6.2. The coalition, in essence, has registered a shift towards the center of Terni’s voters and this can only please AP, which as Stefano Bandecchi states is a center party and ‘the left of the right'”.
The Vice Mayor thanked the citizens who placed their trust in him and added. “In Terni, the most voted centre-right candidates are Viviana Altamura (AP) and me, a sign that the city recognizes the great work done by the mayor Stefano Bandecchi and the municipal administration”.
