The Friend Law Firm is a pioneer in promoting technological solutions in the legal sector, having become a benchmark within the LegalTech framework. Now, the firm marks in this sector its priority for corporate growth in the coming years. The director of Abogado Amigo, Jesús P. López Pelaz, has set as a strategic objective that 50% of the firm’s turnover comes from LegalTech projects in 2025.
However, the needs of clients and the changing economic environment of recent months force law firms to respond in an agile and effective way to the challenges posed or aggravated by the pandemic.
In this uncertain economic environment, the director of the Firm has presented to the media the strategic plan of expansion of the law firm for the coming years.
“Since its birth in 2011” – declared Jesús P. López Pelaz – “Lawyer Amigo has had a decidedly expansive trajectory, first at the national level, consolidating its offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and other cities, until it has become a national benchmark, and later at an international level with its penetration in China, India, Italy and the Netherlands, as well as a wide network of preferred collaborators ”.
Of course, this growth plan is faced without reducing an iota of effort to offer clients the best service in the specialties that are the flagship of the firm’s good work, such as New Technologies Law, Commercial and Business Law and Civil Law.
At this time, however, the Firm considers its growth in a different way, since territorial expansion is no longer considered a priority (although it is not ruled out) and the accent is placed on the development of the value chain, taking advantage of the experience accumulated by the professionals of the firm throughout its trajectory.
“We expect that in 2023 20% of the turnover of the Law Firm Friend will come from projects linked to our own LegalTech and that in 2025 that figure will rise to 50% ”.
To meet these objectives, the Firm will promote the technological solutions platforms for the legal sector that they have developed and put on the market for years and will bet on the creation of new ones that cover other market niches.
In 2016 the firm began its journey in the territory of LegalTech with Sustituciones.com, the first online platform for the management of lawyer substitutions. Today it is one of the Spanish legaltech companies that have grown the most during 2020 due to mobility restrictions between provinces and the difficulty of getting around. The portfolio of projects of the Law Firm Amigo is currently complemented by other legal technology platforms such as Lawyer.
Cloud (documentary cloud for lawyers with full compliance with RGPD), Abogados.Shop (Store of products for lawyers), Expert Friend and Detective Friend. In the coming weeks, Renunciar.es, the first online platform specialized in managing resignations to inheritances and Heredary, a platform specialized in the management of inheritances and testamentary will start up.
