The activities of the 7th edition of the Fujairah International Arabian Horse Championship were launched under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, with the large participation of horse owners and stables from across the world.
The tournament was launched by Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Body Building and Physical Fitness Federation, and Salem Al Zahmi, Director of Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah and President of the organizing committee for the championship.
The tournament will take place over 3 days in the arena adjacent to the Fujairah Fort, with the participation of 360 horses of the purest Arabian breeds, 13 of which are international, all competing for the Fujairah Golden Sword Award, the prize for the best head and best horse in the category, with a total prize value of 4 million dirhams.
Salem Al-Zahmi, Chairman of the Championship Organizing Committee, affirmed the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, and his support for the championship, which aims to pay attention to this important cultural event and human heritage, highlight it globally and introduce the originality of the Arabian horse and its distinctive value in Arab and Islamic heritage.
He said that Fujairah’s annual hosting of the championship confirms its technical and organizational skills and its high skills in organizing various kinds of international competitions, which attracts interested people and horse owners to showcase the most beautiful breeds and as well of Arabian horses in the land of Fujairah.
The competition includes 17 rounds over the three days of the tournament, with the participation of the foals, fillies, mares and stallions categories, from one year to 4 years and beyond.
