Powerful VZ with Drift mode

At the top of the new CUPRA Formentor range are the VZ models. VZ means “veloz” in Spanish and can be translated as “fast” or “simple” – good words to describe the most powerful versions of this crossover.

The CUPRA Formentor VZ is offered in two versions of the internal combustion engine. The first one provides a power of 265 hp (195 kW) and works together with a 7-speed DSG gearbox, which sends the drive to the front wheels. The second variant develops 333 hp (245 kW) and is also connected to a 7-speed DSG gearbox, but in addition it features a race-specific driving mode calibrated by CUPRA engineers , as well as torque split technology. The most powerful VZ can be equipped with Akebono brakes.

CUPRA special mode was developed especially for this engine. It has a racing-style accelerator pedal and gearbox, open damper for high dynamic torque response, gearshift light indicator and engine tuning created at the Martorella Technical Center.

The CUPRA Formentor VZ chassis has allowed engineers to introduce a special Drift mode, which allows the powerful crossover to show its very interesting character on the track. Both include the new 1.5 TSI engine, an electric motor and a larger battery pack with a capacity of 19.7 kWh (net).
