Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Health and Population launches a national vaccination campaign against Polio From Sunday to Wednesday.
The campaign aims to vaccinate children from one day to 5 years of age, free of charge, for both Egyptians and non-Egyptians, to keep Egypt free of the disease.
Details of the national polio vaccination campaign are as follows:
1- The national campaign will start from 11 to 14 December 2022
2- The campaign aims to vaccinate children from one day to 5 years of age free of charge
3- It aims to vaccinate children, both Egyptian and non-Egyptian, to keep Egypt free from disease.
4- The campaign will be implemented in all the governorates of the Republic
5- The campaign aims to vaccinate around 16 million children.
6- The last case of polio was recorded in Egypt in 2004 and the World Health Organization declared Egypt free of the disease in 2006.
7- Vaccination will take place through fixed teams in health offices, health centers, medical centers, large squares, railway stations, subways, buses, meeting places, near mosques, churches, clubs, markets, travel parking lots and public parks.
8- The vaccination will take place from apartment to apartment to reach all the children receiving vaccinations in all the governorates of the Republic, from eight in the morning until five in the evening.
9- Approximately 90,000 people representing the vaccination teams participate in the campaign.
10- The work of the campaign is monitored daily by the Ministry’s Central Chamber of Preventive Affairs
