Dr. Taher Ayoub, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Luxor Governorate, announced today, Sunday, that the first initiative for maternal and fetal health will be launched in Luxor under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and it is one of the Presidential Initiatives of 100 Million Health on Mother and Child.
He pointed out that this comes within the framework of the instructions of Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, and Counselor Mustafa inspired the governor of Luxor to activate all presidential initiatives, as the initiative aims to early detection of the pregnant mother of one of three serious injuries that are transmitted to the fetus, and cause serious symptoms and may lead to death in some cases. They are “hepatitis B, immunodeficiency disease, and syphilis”.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Luxor stated that the initiative is activated in all health units in the governorate, which already provide pregnancy care services from measuring vital signs and basic measurements for a pregnant mother on a regular basis.
Dr. Elham Mohamed, Undersecretary of the Health Directorate in Luxor, called on all pregnant women to go to the units concerned with the initiative to check on their health and protect the fetus.
Dr. Hanan Salih, Director of the Maternal and Child Care Department, added that in the event that the mother is injured, he is referred directly to the hospital designated to receive the necessary treatment.
