• The Latvian experienced his debut season (2018/19 season) at the age of 24, playing 28 games for the “Penguins”. The Latvian scored six goals and four assists in the first season.
• For the next four seasons, including this one, the Latvian represented “Penguins”, becoming an important part of the minority teams. During his career, the Latvian scored five goals and provided six assists.
• In total, during five years, Blügers played 250 games in the NHL, during which he scored 33 goals and provided 59 assists. During these games, he also won 48.7% of the shots, blocked 142 shots and completed 329 power plays.

• The “Golden Knights” team was created one year before Blüger’s debut in the NHL, i.e. in 2017. Already in the first season, it managed to win its conference and get to the finals of the Stanley Cup, where the supremacy of the Washington “Capitals” was recognized (1-4 in the series).
• During six NHL seasons, the Golden Knights have reached the playoffs four times. Its winning percentage is currently above average, or 58.0%.
• The Golden Knights, who have won 76 points in 60 games this season and are the leading team in the Pacific Division, did not make the playoffs last season, but in 2021 they reached the conference finals.
• “Penguins” also made another exchange transaction. It has strengthened the attack with Finnish hockey player Mikaela Granlund, who represented the Nashville Predators throughout his NHL career. The 31-year-old Finn was selected ninth overall in the 2010 draft.
• The hockey player born in 1992 played 729 games in the NHL, during which he scored 144 goals and provided 335 assists.
The Penguins have acquired forward Mikael Granlund from the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 2023 second-round draft pick.
Granlund, 31, is signed through the 2024.25 season and carries an average annual value of $5 million.
