The Latvian U-17 men’s volleyball team lost on Wednesday in the fourth game of the European U-17 Championship Final Tournament (ECC) in the Albanian capital Tirana.

Latvians with a result of 1-3 (21:25, 32:30, 22:25, 19:25) gave way to their peers from Belgium, thus not continuing the fight for the semi-finals.
Kristers Landzāns was the most productive in the Latvian national team with 26 points, who scored four points with “aisnes”, while Kristian Fokerot had 18 points. The winners were awarded 28 points by Eliot de Vleshauers.
After the game with Belgium, the Latvian U-17 national team will play against Slovenia on Thursday.
In the first group, the leader with 11 points in four games is Russia, ten points are for Slovenia, six points are scored by Belgium, five points by Latvia, Turkey has three points in three games, but Albania is still in the beige.
The final tournament is attended by 12 teams, divided into two subgroups of six each. The winners of the first two places in both groups will secure a place in the semi-finals, but the owners of the third and fourth positions will be in the 5-8 place.
The Latvian U-17 national team debuted in the final tournaments of the European Championship in this age group on Saturday with a 3-2 victory over their peers from Turkey, a day later with a 1-3 concession to Russia, but the home Albanians beat 3-0.
Meanwhile, Belgium gave way to Russia in three sets at the start of the championship, later defeated Albania 3-0, but Slovenia lost 1-3.
In the second round of the qualifying competition, the Latvian national team, led by Marc Obruman, beat Croatia 3-1 and both France and Belarus 3-0. Albania qualified as a hostess for the final tournament.
This is the first final tournament in Latvia in the three tournaments that took place, while the Belgians managed to win silver in 2017, but two years ago they took the shared 17th place in the tournament.
Before the final tournament, the Latvian national team in the Slovenian city of Maribor lost to Austria twice – 1-3 and 0-3.
The final tournament in Albania takes place from July 10 to 18.
