The Latvian National Opera Foundation invites donations to opera singer Samson Izjumov

Samsons Izjumovs has been a soloist at the Latvian National Opera since 1978. His extensive repertoire includes major baritone roles such as Nabucco, Rigoleto, Macbeth, Scarpia, Eugene Onegin, Tomsk, Charlotte, Ammonasro, Poza, Renato or Count Anchorström, Georges Hermann, Boris Izmailov, Aleko, Demon, and others. , Forre Requiem, Brahms German Requiem, Orfa Carmina Burana, extensive repertoire of songs, etc.

Samson Izjumov is the winner of the Grand Music Prize (1996) for the role of Skarpia in J. Puccini in the opera Tuscany, titled J. Verdi’s opera Nabucco and outstanding performance in previous roles (Rigoleto, Georges Germons) and winner of the Aldar International Prize of the Year (1997). In 2010, Samson Izjumov was awarded the Order of the Three Stars. He has received the “Latvijas Gāze” Annual Award for the Opera (2015) for his lifetime work in the artistic field of the LNO.

The singer graduated from the Vocal Department of the Latvian State Conservatory (now Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music) with prof. In the class of Guria Antipov (1979). He has successfully participated in several international vocal competitions, including the Georgs Ots International Vocal Competition in Tallinn in 1985, where he won first place.

The Latvian National Opera Foundation has been operating for almost 25 years. It unites music lovers and interested people who want to participate in the artistic growth of the Latvian National Opera and the Latvian National Ballet, jointly supporting the creation of productions and other events related to the Latvian National Opera and Ballet.
