The Latvian National Ballet will give a concert at the Tchaikovsky Festival in Estonia / Article

On July 2, the Latvian National Ballet will take part in the annual Tchaikovsky Festival in the Estonian city of Haapsalu with a concert. The concert program includes choreographies from Peter Tchaikovsky’s world-famous ballets “Swan Lake”, “The Enchanted Princess” and “The Nutcracker”, the representatives of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet informed.

Latvian National Ballet soloists Elza Leimane, Annija Kopštāle, Baiba Kokina, Kārlis Cīrulis, Zigmārs Kirilko, Artūrs Sokolovs and other ballet artists will dance in the concert.

“We are very happy about the upcoming concert, because this Latvian National Ballet will have its first meeting with the audience since November.

I am proud that our dancers are in very good shape now. In addition to dances and views from Tchaikovsky’s ballets “Swan Lake”, “The Enchanted Princess” and “The Nutcracker”, the concert will also feature an insight into the ballet “Two Meters”, which has not yet had its premiere; I have staged a version of What the Little Swan Dance and the Duo of the Enchanted Princess look like if the dancers follow all the rules of epidemiological safety. We are participating in the Tchaikovsky Festival for the first time, but we have been to Estonia many times – in Tallinn, Tartu, Birgita Festival and elsewhere. We have been received everywhere with great response, ”said Aivars Leimanis, the artistic director of the Latvian National Ballet.

The Latvian National Ballet will meet with the audience in Riga on September 10, when the ballet “Dracula” by choreographer Krzysztof Pastor with the music of Voiceha Killar will have its premiere. The premiere of the ballet “Two Meters” in the New Hall will take place on September 30.
