The Municipality of Comodoro Rivadavia invites the Latin American Film Series, a free and open proposal, which will take place on 28, 29 and 30 October at the Cultural Center and intends to enhance and promote the productions of Latin American directors, with screenings and subsequent discussions between the present.
The Latin American film series is part of the activities planned annually by the Ministry of Culture, together with Fundación Proa and Tecpetrol. The special selection of feature films will address different themes of the cinematographic language, inviting the public to let themselves be captured by their stories.
On this occasion the countries represented will be Uruguay, the Dominican Republic and Argentina, through the films “Alelí”, “Carajita” and “El perro que no calla”, which will be screened in the auditorium of the Cultural Center.
In this regard, the Councilor for Culture, Liliana Peralta, indicated that “we promote spaces for reflection through identity cinema that seeks encounter and reflection, around the constant need for transformation and change that exists in the American film industry. Latina “.
“In our country we have great audiovisual producers and, especially in our city, we have been recognized all over the world with different productions,” he said.
Regarding the functions, Peralta remarked that “they are suitable for all audiences and with free admission, since the aim is for the community to have options to enjoy a different cinema for everyone”.
The cycle will begin this Friday, at 20:00, with the screening of “El perro que no calla”, an Argentine film directed by Ana Katz; while on Saturday, at the same time, it will be the turn of the production of the Dominican Republic, “Carajita”, by Ulises Porra and Silvina Schincer. Finally, on Sunday, from 19:00, you can enjoy “Alelí”, by the Uruguayan director Leticia Jorge Romero.
