The Latest Regulations for Emergency PPKM, There is a Question of Places of Worship & Reception

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government through the Ministry of Home Affairs revises the rules for places of religious worship during the Emergency PPKM.

Previously, places of worship during emergency PPKM were closed and are no longer valid. The government just does not allow holding religious activities.

This change is stated in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 19 of 2021 concerning the Third Amendment to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 15 of 2021 concerning the Enforcement of Restrictions on Emergency Community Activities for Corona Virus Disease 2019 in the Java-Bali Region.

The regulation states that places of worship, including mosques, prayer rooms, churches, temples, temples, and pagodas and other places of worship that function as places of worship, do not hold worship or religious activities in congregation during the implementation of Emergency PPKM and optimize the implementation of worship at home.

Not only that, in this latest regulation, the government also changes the provisions related to weddings. During PPKM Emergency, wedding events or receptions are temporarily suspended.

In the previous regulation, namely in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 15 of 2021, it was stated that “a wedding reception was attended by a maximum of 30 (thirty) people by implementing stricter health protocols and not implementing eating at the reception, food provision was only allowed in a closed place to take home.”
