Action citizen cell phone theft in Cijantung, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, shocked residents. Perpetrators run away with throw yourself into the sewer shortly after his action was caught by the victim.
The escape of the perpetrators of this theft made the firefighters go down to search the sewers. However, the search for firefighters was fruitless.
The Head of Pasar Rebo Police, Kompol Agung Ardiansyah, said: the perpetrator threw himself After his act of stealing in one of the residents’ houses on Jalan Gongseng Raya, Cijantung Village, on Sunday (22/5) morning the victim was caught by the victim.
“The perpetrator entered the victim’s house by destroying the door of the house. Two cell phone units were lost. It is suspected that the perpetrator was shouted at by the thief by the victim,” Agung said as reported by Antara, Tuesday (24/5/2022).
The residents’ screams made the perpetrators panic, so they threw themselves into the culverts made of ‘U-ditch’ concrete with a width of about 1.5 meters and a height of about 1.5 meters.
The action of the perpetrators fleeing into the sewers made the firefighters intervene. Head of the Operational Section (Kasi) of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, said the search for the perpetrators in the sewers took more than 1 hour.
The culverts are on the side of the road and are about 50-80 cm wide. There are 4 firefighters who were deployed to the location.
“The search radius is about 100 meters. Because of the long culverts, the turns, and the direction is to the river. Maybe the perpetrators have left but we don’t know where to go,” said Gatot.
The Perpetrators Are Allegedly Out Of The Sewers
The search for the perpetrators of the HP theft was fruitless. Police suspect The culprit is out of the sewer shortly after the victim sought help.
“We are looking for the buser and the firefighters, because the culverts are dry, maybe he went up (out). The firefighters have tracked them all down there,” said Pasar Rebo police chief Kompol Agung Ardiansyah when contacted, Wednesday (25/5).
During the pursuit, the victim saw the perpetrator entering the sewer. The victim who was chasing alone had time to leave the location of the culvert to ask for help from other residents in catching the perpetrator.
There was a time lag when the victim went to call another resident who was then allegedly used by the perpetrator to get out of the culvert and run away.
“Yes, the perpetrator came out. The victim did not report it, so he was sincere,” said Agung.
