Tourism, Enit: “For August only 40% of rooms booked”
4 out of 10 rooms in the accommodation facilities booked online by Italian and foreign tourists. Venice is in trouble with 68% of rooms still available while Rimini is recovering with half of the nights already booked. It emerges from the bulletin produced by ENIT, the national tourism agency. The big cities resist with a 26% booking failure rate in Florence, 38% in Rome, 39% in Milan, 47% in Naples. The cities of art are however greatly penalized by the strong dependence on international tourism which – in an annual projection on 2020 – sees Florence at -63.9% of international arrivals, Naples at -61.5%, Venice at -60.7 %, Rome at -60.5% – comparable with those of Nice-Cannes (-61.8%), Barcelona (-59.2%) and Paris (-57.9%).
