Bologna finds Marko Arnautovic again. The Bolognese striker, out of action in recent weeks due to physical problems, returned to training in a group yesterday for the whole session. For the first time in 2023, Arnautovic and Zirkzee trained on the same day, on the same field: before yesterday, the two always took turns. Drills and practice match: these are the ingredients of yesterday’s session, considering that the starters did a de-fatiguing job in the last round of Serie A.
Thiago Motta is now at a crossroads: given the wide choice of men for the match against Ivan Juric’s Turin, careful assessments will have to be made of all the members of the squad. Arnautovic seems to be ahead in coaching choices, but the possibility that he could start from the bench and take over the match in progress exists.
If so, instead of the Austrian the main doubt would be between Zirkzee and Barrow in the running for a position as centre-forward. Whoever is better physically will play. Little, but sure. Also because no particular indications come from today’s training report.
