The Latest Figures on Losses of the Russian Army in Ukraine Released by British Defense Minister

Wallace also confirms that the first British tanks have arrived in the country

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace reports that according to the latest US estimates, more than 220,000 Russian soldiers and mercenaries have been killed or wounded in Ukraine.

Ben Wallace also confirms that the first British tanks have arrived in Ukraine, but says that “there is still a lot of preparation to go through” before Ukrainian forces are ready to use them in combat, Sky News reports.

They must operate together with the German Marder infantry fighting vehicles as part of a brigade or battle group that assembles to combine various weapons and break through the fortified positions of the Russian Federation.

“At the same time, the Ukrainian military leadership needs to practice and train in combat operations at the brigade or battlegroup level – to fight like NATO or the Western way,” Wallace says.

“This is very important. I can’t guess when, where or how the Ukrainian offensive might happen, but I think it’s no secret that Ukraine is seeking to start the process of pushing back Russian troops,” he adds.

As for Russia’s prospects, Britain’s defense secretary says President Vladimir Putin’s troops are making “hardly any progress” and are “suffering huge losses”.

“The Russian forces right now have some really serious and deep systemic problems in their efforts. The latest US estimates I’ve seen put the casualty figures at over 220,000 killed or wounded,” Wallace says.
