The wife of the late director Ahmed Al-Badri commented in a phone call on the “Qaada Stat” program, presented by the journalist Marwa Sabry and shown on the “Cairo Today” screen, about the late director’s last days and his loneliness, amid neglect by the stars of the artistic community.
The wife of the late director spoke about his suffering before his passing and not asking many of those he worked with throughout his career, despite it being one of the reasons for their success and fame.
She commented on his passing, saying: “He was very happy when anyone would call and ask about him, even if he was a buffet worker, but unfortunately this was the last period, almost the last year or the last 8 months. Badri’s phone was actually not ringing, and no one was asking about him.”
She continued: “Believe me, no one was asking about him, and what they were asking about was the people who did not work with them, and I met Hind Akef and Hind did not work with Badri at all, but Hind was asking about him and Hind was suffering from the same issue, that no one was asking about her, so she was consoling him and they were asking about each other.”
Director Ahmed Al-Badri passed away last December at the age of 69 after having his foot amputated and entering a coma following a long struggle with illness.

Fans of the late director Ahmed Al-Badri were surprised by his return as an actor in the events of the series “Rare Coin” starring the artist Nelly Karim, which was shown within the Ramadan 2023 drama season. In special statements to “Masrawy”, he commented on his return to the artistic scene after an absence, saying: “I was surprised when Mando Al-Adl spoke to me, and at that time I was… I was tired in my eyes and said at the time, “I want you in the role of one of Muallem Abdul Jabbar’s men, and he is a one-eyed man.”
Regarding the reason for his absence, he said, “I have been sitting at home without work for 3 years. No one is offering me any work, and I also do not want to participate in work that will not add anything to me.”
