Fr. Jan Urbański was born on Might 23, 1952 in Krościenko nad Dunajcem, the son of Franciszek and Stanisława née Ćwiertniewicz. He got here from the Krościenko parish. He handed his secondary faculty leaving examination in 1971, and in 1972 he entered the Main Seminary in Tarnów. After finishing his philosophical and theological research, he was ordained a priest by the Bishop of Tarnów, Jerzy Ablewicz, on Might 29, 1978 in Tarnów.

Since 2013, he has lived within the Home of Monks of the Tarnów Diocese. Saint Józefa in Tarnów.
Moreover, he carried out the duties of deanery clerk for missions and chaplain to lecturers and educators within the Wojnicz deanery.
As a token of distinction for his zealous priestly service, in 1995 he obtained the diocesan privilege of Rochetto et Mantoletto.
