The crews of the municipality of Athens have been working feverishly for the last few days to festively decorate the streets of the capital and, above all, the large Christmas tree that has been erected in Syntagma Square.
Today, the finishing touches are being put in place with crews placing the decorations and lantern garlands on the nearly 20m (19.5m) beastly tree which was ‘travelled’ by the Taxiarchis of Halkidiki.
The lighting of the Christmas tree in Athens will take place tomorrow, at 18.00 in the afternoon, by the mayor of Athens Haris Doukas, who invites all the Athenians to be present in order to “celebrate together the Christmas magic that will spread in every neighborhood of the city”.
