The Last of Us Part II Remaster Reveals Cut Levels » Vortex

Last week, the remaster of The Last of Us Part II was officially presented, which will arrive early next year. Developers from the studio Naughty Dog and Sony have been tempting to improve the graphics page, new features or challenges and skins. An accompanying commentary by the creators will also be part of it, but the so-called Lost Levels, which we now learn more about directly from official website.

Lost Levels are three previously unknown levels that didn’t make it into the final version of the game, but have gotten so far in development that they can be offered to players in a work-in-progress form in The Last of Us Part II Remastered. The levels have now been revealed to be called Sewers, Jackson Party and Boar Hunt, with the developers also hinting at the aforementioned hours of commentary. “Dive deeper into this popular adventure and learn how the original game came to be. Lost Levels lets you explore early development versions of three new levels that weren’t in the original The Last of Us Part II game,” entices the newly released detailed description.

The new roguelike mode No Return, which was introduced during the announcement of the remaster, is also more detailed. We knew it would offer new challenges and random encounters in various locations from Part II, culminating in boss fights, with multiple unlockable characters to play. Among them are Dina, Jesse, Lev, Tommy, as we now learn, but the list does not end there. Each of the characters should then have a different play style and abilities, at the same time it will be possible to gradually unlock different skins.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered is coming to PlayStation 5 on January 19, 2024, and will be available as a $10 upgrade for PlayStation 4 owners. There is still no mention of a possible PC version modeled after The Last of Us Part I remake.
