In a surprising turnaround, Sony has now added «The Last of Us Part II» to the ever-growing list of games available for download if you subscribe PlayStation Now.
If you are already a customer, you can either download “The Last of Us Part II” directly on the console, or play immediately via streaming, provided you have an internet connection that handles the traffic.
The other games added on October 5 include the Amnesia Collection (“Amnesia: The Dark Descent” + the “Justine” and “Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs” expansion pack), «Fallout 76» and «Final Fantasy 8 Remastered». This should give PS4 and PS5owners more than enough to keep their fingers crossed during the dark and scary month of October.

If you want to subscribe to PlayStation Now to access “The Last of Us Part II” or one of the other games on the service (there are well over 1000 games), then you can go to PlayStation Store on your console , where you will find a separate section for the subscription.
If you have never subscribed to PlayStation Now before, you also have the opportunity to try the service for free for 7 days. After the trial period, you are deducted per month. The subscription to PlayStation Now currently costs NOK 95 per month (if you pay per month), but can be obtained for NOK 49.59 per month, if you choose to pay for a whole year at a time. Note that this subscription does not include PlayStation Plus.
One last thing to keep in mind is that even if you get access to streaming games over the web, the maximum resolution is 1080p, which means that you can not play for example “The Last of Us Part II” in 4K – if you do not choose to download it.
Comment: PS Now Begins to Approach Xbox Game Pass?
Microsoft Xbox Game Pass is considered by many to be the largest player in gaming subscriptions – and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which includes both Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Cloud Gaming, is probably one of the most consumer-friendly options, since you get the opportunity for both online gaming, streaming and dozens of games in a single package.
That said, PlayStation Now has impressed lately. Initially, there were not many titles served by this service, and they could only be streamed. This often meant a somewhat choppy gaming experience for anyone who did not have a good internet connection.
However, it did not take long before PlayStation Now became a respectable service, and although there are currently no pure PS5 games on the platform, you get access to a handful of PS2, PS3 and PS4 games, which you can either download down or flow.
Now that “The Last of Us Part II” and other sluggers are added, it may look as if Sony has become hot in the jersey, which may mean that the most high-profile games may appear on PlayStation Now relatively soon after launch. . Whether Sony will launch the biggest games on the service, at the same time as in stores, remains to be seen – but we strongly doubt.
“The Last of Us Part II” has thus now become part of Sony’s subscription library, which already contains major games (from the PS4 era) which «God of War», «Nioh 2», «Uncharted 4» and «Bloodborne». Hopefully this means we do not have to wait too long for the first PS5 game to be introduced on the platform.
