It seems that the community simply does not tire of expressing its worst face through different means. As part of all the absurd controversy and hate campaign around The Last of Us Part II, an important group of people decided to attack Laura Bailey, actress who was in charge of giving life to Abby in the latest Naughty Dog game.
Through his Twitter account, Bailey He shared several screenshots with truly disturbing hate messages against him, all of them for their work giving voice and movement to Abby in The Last of Us Part II.
“Man. I always try to just put positive things here, but sometimes I get overwhelmed. I censored a few words because you know, spoilers. A separate note, thanks to all who have sent me positive messages to balance things. It means more than I can say, ”said the actress on her official Twitter account, this accompanied by a series of images in which several users threatened her with death.
Man. I try to only post positive stuff on here… but sometimes this just gets a little overwhelming. I blacked out some of the words cuz, ya know, spoilers.
Side note. Thank you to all the people sending me positive messages to balance it out. It means more than I can say.❤️ pic.twitter.com/kGyULWPpNu

For his part, Niel Druckmann, director of the game who, by the way, has also been a victim of hate attacks on social networks, expressed his support for Bailey, noting that those who send such messages should get professional help as soon as possible.
“As those who spread hate say, how surprising and brave! I hope these gamers get the mental help they clearly need. Unfortunately, this is the cost of popular entertainment that defies convention. Laura doesn’t deserve any of this. “
As the people that propagate this kind of hate would say, how stunning and brave! I hope these gamers get the mental help they so clearly need. Unfortunately this is now the cost of making popular entertainment that challenges conventions. Laura doesn’t deserve any of this. ❤️ https://t.co/kHzXddZzIB

The issue of hate on the internet and how it is that people with “voice” are responsible for spreading it, is becoming something truly serious and very worrying not only for the medium, but for society in general. A real shame that this is happening around our beloved video games.
