The developers at Naughty Dog, as promised, have released a new patch for the PC version of The Last of Us Part I. The update includes fixes for the user interface, unintended character behavior (both playable and NPCs), and much more. It also contains additions to diagnostic support.

We at Naughty Dog and our partners at Iron Galaxy are closely monitoring player reports to support future improvements and fixes. We are actively optimizing, working on the stability of the game and implementing additional fixes that will be included in regularly released future updates.

For players using NVIDIA 30-series graphics cards, the developers strongly recommend updating the driver GeForce Hotfix up to version 531.58which fixes a random game crash on GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs.

  • Fixed an issue where Xbox controller stick input would erroneously be read as zeros for short periods of time.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Restore Defaults” option in the “Graphics” menu under “Settings” could make an incorrect selection.
  • Fixed an issue where HUD performance monitors could affect performance when enabled.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause a crash when using [ALT+ENTER] to switch between full screen and windowed modes.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause a memory crash when transitioning from the end game to the credits.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause a crash when launching the game.
  • Added additional crash reporting logs to provide more information to developers.
  • Added a new feature where users will be prompted to enable advanced GPU diagnostic tools after a GPU-related crash (optional and only available for the current gaming session).
