The Last of Us Part I Gets Steam Deck Support – Gaming – News

The Last of Us Part I will receive Steam Deck support, says the game’s creator Neil Druckmann on Twitter know. The PC version will be released on March 3, 2023 via Steam and can therefore also be played on the Steam Deck.

Naughty Dog’s action-adventure game got a PC release date, but Steam Deck users took to Twitter to ask if the game would also be playable on handheld. Naughty Dogs co-president and The Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann later confirmed that this is indeed possible, mockingly GamesRadar. He writes, “Ellie and Joel will bless the Steam Deck with their presence, don’t worry.”

On the other hand, it is unknown to what extent Valve’s handheld hardware will affect game performance. Users may need to downgrade the game’s graphics settings in order to play The Last of Us Part I, which has been “re-optimized and improved for PC”, with a comfortable frame rate.

Valve uses several categories for compatibility point with the handheld; from “Great on Deck” to acknowledging that the game works for the most part, but some aspects of the game may not work or may not work properly. Presumably Druckmann’s announcement indicates that the game will receive full Steam Deck support.

In The Last of Us, players follow teenager Ellie and father figure and smuggler Joel. The two must survive in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by fungus-infected creatures and murderous humans. The first part was released in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and 4. Later, a remake was released, which was called “Part I”. In 2020, the sequel followed directly from the title The last of us part II had. Meanwhile there is also one TV series in progresswhich will debut January 15 on HBO Max.
