In the past few days we have reported several times that “The Last of Us Part 2” is the worldwide one Conquer game charts and could claim the first places. So far it has been unclear how often the title was actually sold. The answer to this question was answered a few minutes ago by Sony and Naughty Dog on the official PlayStation blog.
To put it briefly: More than four million copies of “The Last of Us Part 2” were sold quickly. This number was reached by June 21 – within the first three days after the launch. According to Sony, the title was able to become the fastest-selling exclusive PS4 title.
Statement vom Director
Neil Druckmann, vice president of Naughty Dog and director of “The Last of Us Part 2”, left the following message for the four million copies sold:
“We are so immensely grateful to the millions of fans around the world who played The Last of Us Part 2 and shared their experiences of the past week with us. We set out to tell a new kind of story, a story that deals with difficult topics and would challenge you in an unexpected way.
It was so incredible to hear how this experience resonated with so many of you, and to witness the kind of thoughtful discussion that sparked it. Your creativity has also inspired us so much – whether it’s your wonderful photos in photo mode, the breathtaking GIFs around the gameplay or the songs you recorded with Ellie’s guitar. ”
In the course of his statement, Druckmann referred to the “efforts of hundreds of talented and passionate developers” that made this possible at Naughty Dog. One could not imagine a greater honor than to see “how the same passion is reflected in people” who play “The Last of Us Part 2”.
“Thank you for helping us to reach this amazing milestone,” Druckmann said in closing.
Tips for The Last Of Us Part 2
“The Last of Us Part 2” has been on the market exclusively for the PS4 since last Friday and is one of the last major games of the PS4 before the PS5 is launched in the fall of this year. You can still expect a few games. This includes „Marvel’s Iron Man VR“ on July 3, 2020 and „Ghost of Tsushima“ shortly afterwards on July 17, 2020.
