The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered trailer shocked YouTube, and not for the better

On the night of November 17-18, Sony and Naughty Dog presented the trailer for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered for PS5: in 48 hours, the video received more than 1.2 million views on the PlayStation YouTube channel alone, excluding re-uploads from other channels. The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered trailer quickly became a trend on X and a popular topic on Instagram, TikTok and, of course, Twitch and YouTube, where there was no shortage of reactions and comments.

Despite the very large number of views of the first trailer, there was also a shortage of “dislikes” – more than 100 thousand, according to Tech4Gamers, who noted that the trailer received more than 50 thousand “likes” on the official PlayStation channel. But this figure is contrasted by 70 thousand “dislikes” received in the first 20 hours.

Popular channels such as IGN and Gamespot also posted the trailer on YouTube, collecting 24 thousand and 4.6 thousand dislikes, respectively. If you add up these numbers, then the trailer received almost 100 thousand “dislikes” on these three channels alone. In the comments on YouTube, users are making fun of the fact that PlayStation is apparently remastering games that were recently released.

According to Tech4Gamers, this is a reaction to Naughty Dog seemingly not using its capabilities. In three years, she released three re-releases of her games. This is time that could perhaps be spent creating new games. Of course, other studios like Bluepoint Games and Nixxes have worked on these ports, but it feels like Naughty Dog is focusing too much on these re-releases rather than new games.

So it’s possible that Sony has a very real problem with dissatisfaction among its own customers. And even the possibility of a cheap upgrade may not satisfy them. In any case, Sony only recently announced this game and has a few months to market it and maybe come up with something else to satisfy PlayStation owners.
