The last disintegration in sight. The epidemic will subside more slowly now, Svrčinová thinks

“The incidence is declining, but we do not expect it to go so fast below 50. We expect that by the end of the holidays we will be around 25 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants, “said Svrčinová on Friday when asked about Novinek.

Currently, this incidence in the Czech Republic is at an average of 53 cases per week per 100,000 inhabitants, but a month ago it was almost 150 higher. We are thus approaching the value of 25, which is crucial for the last dismantling, ie for package number six.

In recent days, this number has been steadily declining by 4 to 5 points per day. For example, from 79, the value dropped to 53 in a single week. According to Svrčinová, it will thus move another 25 points down by the end of the holidays, ie in a number of months. It relates this to the opening of schools, especially high schools, which is scheduled for Monday.

The measures according to package number 6, when the number will be lower than 25, are not yet known. It is not so clear what will ever apply. “Respiratory protection and other measures will be specified,” it says.

“We have prepared a proposal for what it will look like in the Czech Republic until about October. We want to discuss the proposal at the Government Council for Health Risks on Monday, then we will present it to the governors and the general public, ”Svrčinová told Novinky.

“It simply came to our notice then. We need to take the time to evaluate what it has done to us in the population, ”the chief hygienist also indicated.

Most recently, the government approved, for example, the return of secondary schools to theoretical teaching, and also increased the capacity of cultural events. In June, the reopening of the interior of the restaurant is expected.

What will happen then, however, is not yet clear. But it is already clear that at least somewhere in the summer there will be drapes. “It will be maintained in medical and social services facilities,” said the chief hygienist. In addition, they are also being considered in public transport and shops.
