The board of the Lasnamäe region of the Estonian Central Party decided to support Mihhail Kõlvart in the election of the chairman of the party at the extraordinary congress in Paide.
“One of the biggest challenges of the new Central Party chairman is to increase the party’s credibility and support in rural areas. Just before the local elections, this is critically necessary, because without the support of rural areas it is difficult to imagine strengthening our positions in the next Riigikogu composition,” said the chairman of the Center Party’s Lasnamäe region. Vladimir Svet. “I believe that Mihhail Kõlvart, as the unifier of communities and the head of the Union of Estonian Towns and Municipalities, has the necessary experience and knowledge for this.”
Vladimir Svet added that it is important for the Lasnamäe region that rural areas as well as small and large cities stand behind Mihhaili.
The extraordinary congress of the Center Party will be held on September 10 in the E-Piima sports hall in Paide. The chairman of the party, members of the board of the party, members of the revision committee and the chairman of the court of honor are elected. More than 1,000 delegates are expected in Paide.
