This infrastructure inaugurated by TotalEnergies and CEVA was built on the site of the logistics group, located in this town in the southwest of Ain.

TotalEnergies and CEVA Logistics inaugurated a solar power plant in Blyes made up of 58,000 panels, with a total power of 28.5 MWp (MegaWatt Peak) for a production of 34 GWh (GigaWatt hour). This is the equivalent of the annual domestic electricity consumption of 15,000 inhabitants, specifies the energy group in a press release. Built on the CEVA Logistics logistics platform, this solar power plant aims to produce and distribute low-carbon electricity locally, he indicates.

A major project for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region

The commissioning of these shade houses, which are to date the largest achievement of this type for TotalEnergies in France, will make it possible to produce 34 GWh (Gigawatt hour) per year and avoid the release of more than 9,000 tonnes of CO2. per year, specifies the group.

“Beyond the production of low-carbon electricity, these car park shade structures offer other advantages, such as reinforced protection of stored vehicles against bad weather, in particular hail, and an improvement in the working conditions of employees on the park . »

TotalEnergies et CEVA

The construction of this installation has, since 2021 and until its commissioning at the end of 2023, taken place in close collaboration with the CEVA Logistics teams and according to a schedule in several phases, to respect the operational constraints inherent to the activities present on the site.

The electricity produced by this photovoltaic shade installation deployed over 28 hectares will enable the production of sustainable and local energy for the region. CEVA Logistics, which aims to be “strongly committed to environmental protection and keen to reduce the local impact of its activities”, indicates that it is contributing with this achievement to reducing the carbon footprint of its platform dedicated to logistics. vehicles finished in Blyes.

CEVA Logistics also indicates that it is continuing its program to improve the environmental performance of its sites through decarbonization and the production of renewable electricity as well as process improvement. CEVA already has 80 hectares covered in the installation of solar panels on its sites around the world.

26 TotalEnergies renewable energy production sites in the Region

TotalEnergies aims to become a major player in the energy transition in order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. To do this, the Company invests massively each year in low-carbon energies, mainly electricity. With these photovoltaic shade structures, TotalEnergies teams demonstrate their know-how in complex projects, for the benefit of their customers and territories.

In the Region, TotalEnergies operates 26 renewable energy production sites (wind, solar and hydroelectric), which represents an annual production of 166 GWh, the equivalent of the annual consumption of 75,000 inhabitants.

“At TotalEnergies, we are proud to support manufacturers such as CEVA Logistics in their energy transition. This project illustrates our ability to respond to our customers’ industrial challenges to deliver low-carbon electricity production solutions while respecting high safety standards. We have been able to take into account the constraints of maintaining activity at the CEVA site, while contributing to local economic development and strengthening our territorial roots. This is the strength of our B2B approach: a manufacturer serving manufacturers.”

Marin de Montbel, general manager of TotalEnergies Renouvelables France

“We are delighted with the implementation of this fantastic solar power plant project on our Blyes logistics park and thus contribute to the availability of electricity from renewable sources on a local scale. CEVA Logistics wants to actively contribute to the evolution of the energy mix by using, as here in Blyes, intelligently our storage park areas to respond to the challenges of decarbonization of our activities and energy transition at a global level.”
