SPACE — The Solar System has four planets which are large planets. These planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

Reporting from Space, Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. Jupiter has a radius almost 11 times the size of Earth.

Jupiter also has dozens of moons that have been confirmed or are waiting to be confirmed. The planet consists mostly of hydrogen and helium surrounding a solid core of rock and ice.

Jupiter can be seen with the naked eye. Most of its atmosphere consists of hydrogen, helium, ammonia and methane.

Saturn

Saturn is about nine times the radius of Earth. The most prominent characteristic of Saturn is that it has large rings. How the ring was formed is not yet known for certain or is still being studied at this time.

Saturn has several dozen discovered and confirmed moons. Like Jupiter, Saturn consists mostly of hydrogen and helium surrounding a solid core. The atmosphere is similar to that of Jupiter.

Uranus

Uranus has a radius about four times that of Earth. Uranus was the first gas giant discovered using a telescope.

Previously, Jupiter and Saturn had been observed with the naked eye since ancient times. Another unique thing about this planet is that Uranus is the only planet that is tilted on its side.

The planet also rotates retrograde compared to all the planets except Venus. This unique rotation implies that a major collision has disturbed it for a long time.

Uranus has dozens of moons. The atmosphere consists of hydrogen, helium and methane.

Uranus was discovered by William Herschel in 1781. Only one spacecraft, Voyager 2, flew by it in 1986.

Some of the strange things observed on Uranus include unexplained cold temperatures, and its complex atmosphere.
